Jamie Sheldon
B A S S
Bassist Jamie Sheldon joined the influential string band Home Cookin’ in 1972, touring the Midwest and gigging with legendary “Hillybilly Jazz” violinist Vassar Clements. During this period Jamie opened for Flatt and Scruggs, Blood Sweat and Tears, and Bob Hope, and studied jazz theory under Tony King at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music. Other gig and recording credits include Bill Camplin, The Early Sisters, Leroy Airmaster, Doctor Heat, and The Milwaukee Rhythm All Stars with drummer Rick Jaeger (McCartney, Grateful Dead, Crosby, Stills and Nash, Dave Mason). In 1996 he took several years off and moved to Boston to co-found a software company. Reminded of his earlier obsession with the Aja album, Jamie answered a 2005 Craigslist ad looking for musicians to play Steely Dan. That ad was the start of No Static. Jamie’s 2021 recording with fusion band Big Whisper can be heard on Spotify.
